I purchased a used drum kit. It sounded horrible. I replaced all the batter heads with Remo Ambassador and the reso heads with the Evans G1s. My Tom sound 100X better than they did. Hopefully with some more tuning, I can get them where I want. So far so good. I'm liking the G1s. I bought an extra set in case I decide to put the G1s on the batter heads. I'm always happy with the service at DCP.
They feel way more like a real stick than a traditional multi-rod. Articulates toms well. A touch louder than hot-rods. Ride articulation is still a problem. 5-stars for not feeling like taped chopsticks.

I always feel like clap stacks always cost way too much to make such a "cheap" sound. This one does what you need it to do without breaking the bank. It might not sound exactly the same as the $400 clap stacks..... but it is close, and a cheap way to get that 808 sound you are looking for.
Finally a replacement for the troublesome Zoomatic strainer. The packaging is nothing other than plastic bag and no instructions are included. Other than that, it is fine.
It’s the perfectly designed hoop, Sonor thought this through perfectly. You are able to take off the snare wires-completely- then put a new head on and tune it up without having any wires to be in your way. I wish other drum companies would think of things like this.
