The Aquarian Modern Vintage 18-inch bass drumhead uses a medium-weight single 10mil ply and a calfskin-style vintage coating. The coating contributes a warm tone, softer feel and traditional appearance.

A vertical felt strip fixed to the underside supplies the tonal control associated with Swing Era bass drums. The built-in strip reduces the need for extra muffling and allows the head to serve as either a batter or a resonant head.
